I picked this song by Christina Aguilera because I think that the lyrics are a good reminder for Melinda and that she really needs to hear them. Despite all her pain and how ashamed she feels, she needs to remember that she is beautiful. And if she is ever ashamed or filled with emptiness that remembering she is a beautiful person will help her not be hurt by the words people say that bring her down.
And most importantly, I want Melinda to remember that:
No matter what we do
No matter what they say
When the sun is shining through
Then the clouds won't stay
If she knows that the clouds won't stay, she will be able to make it through her problems.

ReplyDeleteI think this song fits the novel because the song talks about how others put you down and crush your self-esteem, and Andy crushed her into pieces, she cant see her beauty but like the song says "You are Beautiful NO Matter What They!! :)
