i picked this song as a peice of advice for melinda.this part of the song suggests that she shouldn't let this take over her and should be strong. this is a bump in the rode and will only be there until she finds it within herself to fix it.she has many people who are judging her but she needs to pick her head up and start creating herself again. take back her life from the boy who took it from her.
oh.oh,oh
Do what you want,
but you're never gonna break me,
sticks and stones are never gonna shake me
These lyrics to me also suggest that melinda needs to find something to make her happy again. maybe through art but just something to express who she originaly was before this incident. create a world where she is safe and feels protected.
There's a place that I go
That nobody knows
Where the rivers flow
And I call it home
And there's no more lies
And the darkness is light
And nobody cries
there's only butterflies
I agree what you said because she does need to take her life back from the one who took it from her. When she finds the strengh in herself she can make it better.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this song relates to Melinda because of how it talks about having a special place to go. In the song it is where the river flows and in the novel it is Melinda's closet. I also agree that the advice in this song would be very powerful for melinda and that she needs to take her life back from Andy.
