I think that melinda is like a onion! She has many layers that add up to who she is! With every thing with her parents is one layer, and everything with what happened at the party is another. Antother is everyting that happends at school. and her art and he closet.
ReplyDeleteI would say Melinda symbolizes an ocean wave to me. I think this is what reminds me of her because ocean waves go up than back again. And in the book Melinda will have something good happen to her than something bad happens to her in return. For an example, her and Heather had a good relationship than all of a sudden Heather changes her mind about being friends with her. This is an example of of why I symbolize her as an Ocean Wave.
ReplyDeleteI think Grass represents Melinda because as it grows it gets greener and when it dosnt get the water it needs it turns brown and dies, but you can always bring it back with some TLC. Melinda was green until she went to that party and it poisened her now she is this brown grass that wants to become green again but she cant do it alone she needs help from rain (parents) clouds (friends) etc.
ReplyDeleteI think that Melinda symbolizes any type of wild animal such as a bear, or lion. The reason I chose that is because they don't like to be messed with and are mostly independent like Melinda. When they don't like something they leave, and Melinda does the same when she decides to go into her janitors closet to get away from everyone. They also go and "hang out" with their "group" when ever they want too, and thats the same with Melinda, she communicates with her parents and her classmates every once in a while when she feels that it's right; or she gains the confidence.
ReplyDeleteI think Melinda symbolizes a Rolly Polly because when they get scared they roll up and hide just like Melinda. When she gets scared she runs and Hides in the janitors closet or in the school bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI think that Melinda symbolizes a ant because she is constantly getting step on and because she is so little and has no confidence and is carrying alot of wight on her shoulders.
ReplyDeleteI think that a symbol that represents Melinda is a circle because she dont want to let anyone in the circle becasue she is afraid that prople arent going to like her for who she is so like no one can get in or out.
ReplyDeletei think melinda is like a ant because she carries alot of weight on her shoulders and ants can carry like ten times there weight.an ant is also like melinda because they are really small and get stepped on.(((AMBER STOLE MY IDEA! I HAD IT FIRST! HONESTLY =][))))
ReplyDeletei think that a glass windo can symbolizes melinda because little things like a stick or ice cream cone or mashed potatos wont break the glass it will get it dirty. but lets say a rock or getting raped that will break the glass.
ReplyDeleteI think melinda is like a piece of paper, because if the wind blows hard enough, it can carry the paper away, just like Melinda, before when she was friends with heather she just let her be the wind, because if heaher said they should do something, she would follow along with it without arguing.
ReplyDeleteI think dirt symbolizes Melinda. Melinda is constantly walked all over to the point where I don't even think people think anything of it anymore. I also think Melinda is a lot like dirt because she puts no value to herself anymore. After everything that's happened I don't think she sees her self as worth anything anymore.
ReplyDeleteI think that Melinda is an apple... because the outer skin layer represents her personality and as she goes on with her life the apple gets eaten to the core and that represents her parents, friends, and school. the core represents that she doesnt see her self worth anything anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe symbol I chose to represent Melinda is glass. She's been shattered to pieces because of what has happened to her, yet she still has SOME strength left in her. She can be put back together, but will never be the same.
