Reading Response Pages 3-36 Question #4

1. Describe the globe Mr. Freeman uses in his class, and explain how he uses it.

2. What word does Melinda pick and what do you think that symbolizes? (Notice there is a representation of the word she picks on the cover of the book. That's a hint to its importance.)

  1. The north hemisphere of the globe is missing. He uses the inside of th globe to put pieces of paper in it with objects. He asks the students to take one and use that object for art for the rest of the year. He feels that imagination and art is more important than writing and reading.

2.) She picks up on the word tree. I think this word sybolizes a person because a tree is alone, and lonely, and so is Melinda.
